Why She Chose Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Maples’ path into pediatric dentistry was shaped by compassion, service, and a desire to help children feel cared for. Her father’s example of kindness and generosity had a lasting influence on her. A mission trip to Honduras also deepened her belief in the power of dental care to change a child’s life.

That early calling still guides how she practices today. She loves helping children build confidence, healthy habits, and positive feelings about the dentist from a young age.

Proud of Her Roots, Dedicated to Families

Dr. Maples is proud of her Cajun-Florida roots, her family’s deep legacy in dentistry, and the chance to raise her children right here in the community she loves. She and her husband, Dr. Andrew Maples, are both dentists— Ponte Vedra Premier Dental and Maples Dental—and together they share a strong commitment to caring for families both in and out of the office.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find her with Andrew and their three kids, soaking up family time, cheering on the Florida Gators and Jacksonville Jaguars, and staying involved in local schools, events, and charitable programs that support children and the wider Ponte Vedra community.

A thoughtful, gentle approach to pediatric dental care

Dr. Maples believes parents deserve to understand not only what is recommended for their child, but why. Her care is prevention-first, practical, and focused on healthy growth over time. She works hard to make visits feel calm and predictable. That is especially important for first visits, anxious children, and kids who need a slower, more supportive start.

Parents appreciate that she helps them understand:

  • what needs treatment now

  • what should be watched as a child grows

  • what is normal for the current stage of development

Dr. Maples is known for helping visits feel calm, positive, and age-appropriate. She uses desensitization techniques, behavior guidance, and a child-centered approach to help children feel more comfortable in the dental chair.

Clinical areas she focuses on include:

  • infant and toddler dental care

  • cavity prevention and early intervention

  • behavior guidance and anxiety management

  • sedation planning and hospital-based care

  • care for children with special healthcare needs

“Being part of the Ponte Vedra community means showing up where kids learn, play, and grow. I’ve always believed that pediatric dentistry isn’t just about caring for teeth—it’s about investing in the whole child and supporting the people who shape their world. From classroom visits to cheering on local teams to partnering with our schools, these moments allow me to connect with families in a way that goes far beyond an appointment.

Now, raising my own three children here, I feel a deep responsibility to give back to the community that gives so much to us. Caring for children goes far beyond the dental chair, and I’m grateful every day for the chance to be part of their journey. Serving families who value connection, compassion, and giving children every opportunity to thrive is truly one of the greatest privileges of my career.”
